I recently listened to a podcast by two heavy hitters in the health and fitness space where they discussed all things productivity related. Productivity in the sense of things we all do: office and computer work, exercise, and sleep. These guys are always on the cutting edge of new technology and techniques to improve your personal output. I knew I had to try some of their latest recommendations.
It is almost upon us. Beach Season. Pool Season. It’s the third cycle of the year where you haphazardly stumble into the gym, actually using your membership you’ve nearly forgotten about. Or perhaps you’re picking up that workout DVD in the checkout line, or joining a boot camp, etc. You get the picture.
I will be the first to admit that meditation, mindfulness, breathing techniques, and even some aspects of yoga seemed a little “woo-woo” to me. I remember lying on my back after a hot yoga session where the teacher was instructing me to repeat a word of affirmation to myself as she went around the room striking a small gong. I can still smell the trail of incense.
